From Phones to Farms
On Friday, November 5th, 1909, several years after selling his local telephone company, Jodie E. Frisby purchased a successful rice farm just outside of Lonoke.
In 1916, he purchased more land across town to expand his rice operations and built ponds to begin raising fish.
A Century of Success
In 2017, the Frisby Farm was inducted into the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Century Farm Program. This distinction is presented to farms that have been family-owned and operated on the same piece of land for over 100 years.
